Gleeson Land had a fantastic end calendar year with two major residential sites sold in December to national housebuilders. Both sites were sold with the benefit of an outline planning permission secured by the Gleeson team on behalf of their landowning clients.

Site one in Angmering, West Sussex: an 82 acre site on which permission for 525 homes has been granted was sold to a top 10 housebuilder. This highly complex deal involved three landowners and a separate fourth party. Gleeson Land dealt with the multifaceted planning application while negotiating simultaneously with numerous solicitors and stakeholders. With an affordable housing provision of 158 units, and a Section 106 contribution of more than £8 million, this development will enrich the local community.

Site two in Crediton, Devon: a 76-acre site on which planning permission was granted by Mid Devon District Council for 257 homes, together with land for a new school and rugby pitches and which has now been sold to Bellway Homes. This development will deliver 56 affordable homes and will improve education and access to sports facilities in the local area.  

The sale of these two sites will see the total land sold by Gleeson Land in 2021 delivering in excess of 1,680 new homes. Gleeson Land have more to come in 2022 and we are looking forward to working with landowners and partners to deliver attractive residential developments in the new year.
