At Gleeson, sustainability means meeting the needs of the present without compromising future generations. Sustainability is at the heart of our business, and our approach is based on our relationships with communities, people, and the environment.
Our goal is to source high-quality new sites that are well located and can deliver attractive residential planning consents for sustainable development. Sensitive planning and design is integral to our model and ethos.
We engage with stakeholders such as local residents, specialists and local authorities to ensure we are balancing the needs of the community and the environment across our developments. We hold public consultations or attend parish or other local events to understand the views of stakeholders and when developing planning applications. We engage with external specialist & consultants to ensure compliance and to ensure we are being respectful of the surrounding built and natural environment including biodiversity and water management. As a Group, we have committed to set near term and net-zero Science Based Targets across scope 1, 2 & 3 carbon emissions.

As part of the MJ Gleeson Group, we work to The Ten Principles of The United Nations Global Compact across Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-corruption improving our sustainability approach and as a group support six of the UN Sustainable Development Goals ("SDGs") or ‘Global Goals’ through its activities.
